Welcome...First let's talk about coupons.

Okay, so I'm VERY new at this. I've never blogged before, so, bare with me! About 2 weeks ago I decided to try and save my family money. I thought I'm a stay-at-home mom so why not! Turns out it so easy ANY mom can do it. I started with clipping coupons. VERY EASY ladies! We can all take a few minutes a week to clip the coupons from our local newspaper and the weekly circular (mail). My first "couponing" (fyi: I like to make up my own words) trip to the grocery store went great. I'm still new at this but I was pretty proud when I saved $32.75, that was a whopping 25% . I was a little nervous about it at first. I thought, OMG people are going to HATE me for holding up the line! So... I recruited a friend to go with me, thanks Brandi =). We went to HARPS food store because they give you double coupons up to a dollar every third week of the month. So not only did I get a dollar off, I got 2 dollars off!! I learned later that Homeland always offers double coupons if you have their Homeland savings card. Turns out John's cousin works at HARPS and she gave me a little hint that I'll share with you. (thanks Becca!) See at HARPS you have to present the coupon with the item, other stores take it at the end, so she suggested taping the coupon to the product as you shop. She made a point to tell me NOT to tape it to frozen or cold items, we all know what wet paper is like =). Lets see what else can I tell you about coupins, as we like to call them at my house. Oh! You can use manufacture and store coupons together, this is a good way to get things for free or really cheap. Oh and beware some coupons say NO doubling! Well that's all I have time for, nap time is over =). Next we'll talk about Freebies!!
